The Basics of Writing a Poem

A lot of people want to write poetry, but they don't know where to start or what a "right" poem would look like. For those of you struggling to understand what poetry essentially is and want a better image, I've outlined the basics of writing a poem.


But first things first: there is no "right" way to write a poem. A poetry can be structured anyway that you like it to be, if of course you are writing free verse.
